BrANCH Postgraduate and Early Career Workshop
Institute of the Americas, University College London
12 April 2013
We are pleased to invite papers for the BrANCH postgraduate and early career workshop, to be held at University College London on April 12, 2013. Building on last year’s inaugural workshop, we will provide a forum for the constructive consideration and discussion of thesis chapters, potential journal submissions and conference papers. Submissions are encouraged for individual papers from postgraduate and early career academics working on all aspects of US history in the long nineteenth century.
We intend the workshop to become a valuable medium for young scholars to bring exciting new scholarship to the table. The workshop will also provide an excellent opportunity for those of us at the early stages of our academic careers to meet up outside the annual BrANCH conference. The organisers anticipate that some funds will be available to subsidise travel for those presenting their work.
We intend to circulate papers ahead of the workshop. In order to give all submissions due consideration, brief proposals of no more than 400 words should be submitted by 1st March 2013. Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are interested in submitting a paper, or would like to register your interest in attending, we look forward to hearing from you.
